Organ System (Circulatory)

Eastern Black Rhino - Circulatory System

                      Functions:
                           - Delivers oxygen, nutrients, and hormones throughout the body.
                           - Removes carbon dioxide and other metabolic wastes from the body.

                       Major Organs:
                            - Heart
                            - Blood vessels (capillaries, arteries, veins.)

                       Fun Fact:
                              - Eastern Black Rhinos, being mammals, have a double-loop circulatory system which means blood without tons of oxygen is pumped to the lungs. Blood with more oxygen in it from the lungs returns to the heart. The second loop carries blood between the heart and the body. Blood with enough oxygen in it is pumped throughout the body and blood without enough oxygen in it returns to the heart.
